Automechanika 2024 – Our Top 3 Highlights

Well, another amazing Automechanika event has come to a close at Messe Frankfurt, and we are proud to have played a small part in another successful few days for the automotive aftermarket industry.

There were around 4,200 exhibitors from as many as 80 different countries at the event with indoor and outdoor events as well as five stages hosting fantastic talks, showcases and more. As always with Automechanika, there was a big focus on the future. Who will be taking our industry to the next level? What is important to them? Why are the latest innovations so important? And where can those within the industry find the expertise, tools, software, solutions and products to help them not only keep pace, but carve new pathways for industry innovation?

 

So, after 5 days spent showcasing our latest products and meeting our existing partners and potential new clients from around the world, what were our top takeaways from Automechanika Frankfurt 2024?



1: Strong International Relationships

 

This Show, more than any other in recent years, truly demonstrated the importance of the strong relationships FRSH Scents has built up with our existing friends and business partners around the globe.

 

It was fabulous that so many familiar faces made a special trip to Hall 3.1 to meet with us, talk business, share some laughs, and catch up on each other’s news. Some were already existing customers, and some were long-term friends from the industry who were keen to learn more about the potential opportunities FRSH Scents offers them. We were especially delighted that several distributors brought the buyers from some of their largest retail chains with them to the FRSH Scents booth, helping to secure new business for all concerned.

 

One of the keys to success in international business is recognising that “one size does not fit all” and great ideas can originate from anywhere in the world – so, at FRSH Scents we do a lot more listening than talking when we meet with our international friends. We are very appreciative of all the great feedback and suggestions given and can guarantee that some of those ideas from Automechanika Frankfurt 2024 will be fully finished products available to buy by the time of the next Automechanika Frankfurt in 2026, emphasising how all of us benefit from the 2-way nature of our international business relationships.

 

2: Sustainability of products

 

Sustainability was a very high-profile theme throughout Automechanika, with a full programme of talks, workshops and events helping to supplement the new product developments in this area. It was especially encouraging to talk with so many large retail chains who have now adopted a Sustainability Policy into their core corporate behaviour.  

 

FRSH Scents is very proud to be Certified Plastic Neutral through our work with The Plastic Bank. This means that every FRSH Scents product sold equates to 3 plastic bottles being collected and recycled, saving them from reaching our oceans. This initiative not only helps clean up our coastlines and seas but provides resources and opportunities to coastline communities throughout the world.

 

When we started FRSH Scents, we didn’t just want to make great products, we also wanted to make a difference, and we have continued to commit to our initiative with The Plastic Bank. However, there’s always more that can be done in all elements of the business, so it was great to be a part of some really in-depth discussions at our booth for how we can evolve our commitment to sustainability even further in the years to come.

 

3: Customisation of our air fresheners

 

For a number of years, a key thing across many different industries has been the explosion in demand for personalisation and customisation. The automotive industry is no exception, with consumers, retailers and brands all seeking out “something different” at every opportunity.

 

At FRSH Scents, it’s all about personality. With our car air freshener range, we can help the consumer truly personalise their driving experience with scents that match their style. And with our new polymer vent clips in a range of fantastic designs, the car interior aesthetic is improved with colour, personality and style, as well as fragrance.

 

The polymer vent clips were a huge draw for visitors to the FRSH Scents booth at Automechanika and created a great buzz around the range, including some brilliant ideas for some more new customised designs from distributors and retailers alike.


Our hanging card products are always winners when low-cost, but good quality, customised promotional products are required, and several new orders were taken for various different shapes and designs.

 

We believe this combination of eye-catching looks, customisable products, and a strong sustainability focus gives FRSH Scents a real edge – and judging by the overwhelmingly positive responses we received last week, the visitors to Automechanika Frankfurt last week agree with us!
